The Mexican series consists of 20 pieces, comprised of drawings, monotypes, and paintings reflecting my time in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. While there, I submerged myself in the lively rhythms of the culture, the lighthearted humor, the various art forms of the Calaveras and Catrinas and the many festivals during Semana Santa. I became fascinated with the work of 20th century artists Jose Posada, Rufino Tamyo and Leonora Carrington because of the way they represented archetypal, mythical and real figures in their art.
